Valedictory Function 2017

Graduation isn't the end. And February 10 marked the beginning of a new innings as the senior most batch (Grade 12) was given a grand send off by the School. The Valedictory Function began with the ceremonious lighting of the lamp by the Chief Guest Mr. Dipen Gada (an eminent architect), Principal Sonal Verma, Executive Director Subhalakshmi Amin, School's Management Committee member Sandhya Gajjar and a few parents of the outgoingbatch. The event witnessed many a wet eye as it is a poignant occasion when the School bids farewell to Grade 12 as they prepare to step out into the world outside as young adults.

The Chief Guest in his address advised students to "always aim for quality and not numbers" and to never lose sight of their goal. He also cautioned them not to "lose sight of the path" they had chosen for themselves but pursue it with steadfast determination and perseverance. Principal Sonal Verma too gave an inspiring speech urging students to dream with their eyes open and to follow those dreams and also stressed the importance of giving back to the community when they become successful professionals. This way they would enrich their own lives and also prove to be assets to the world they live in. On a lighter but very personal note, the teachers who had taught the 12th graders also expressed their take on the students based on their observations both in the classroom and outside.

In their joint Valedictorian Address, Rishika Davda and Shaan Tahilramani, expressed their gratitude towards Navrachana Vidyani for gifting lifelong friends and a treasure trove of beautiful memories. On behalf of their yearmates, the two valedictorians thanked the Principal and other Staff Members and alsoacknowledged the role of parents in making them and their peers into who they were. They concluded their speech by exhorting their peers to confidently go out on their chosen roads and expressed the hope that their year mates would always remain in touch with each other.A couple of other students too came forward to express their love for the school andshare their thoughts about their journey in Navrachana Vidyani.

The program also included a ceremonial procession, a dance performance by junior students, a LCD presentation depicting scenes from the graduating class's school life, a humorous parody of the modern student enacted by Grade 11 and of course the Tilak ceremony followed by oath taking wherein students pledged to remain true to the Vidyani spirit in whatever they did and wherever they went in future time.

The Function concluded with the School hosting a formal farewell dinner for the outgoing students and their parents. Putting aside temporarily the thought of their impending separation, the graduating batch really enjoyed themselves in the Dining Hall reliving their "brunch-time shenanigans". Finally, the outgoing students left for their homes after wishing each other the very best for the impending Boards and other entrance examinations, thereby bringing an end to the memorable evening.
