The Navrachana Vidyani Vidyalaya is probably the first School in Gujarat affiliated to the state Board (GSEB) to have bagged the British Council’s International School Award (ISA) Accreditation. The ISA recognizes good practice in innovative ways in which Schools can introduce the international dimension in their co-curricular activities. Navrachana Vidyani Vidyalaya attained this prestigious, and rather stringent, accreditation on the basis of the global outlook in its curriculum transaction.
The School’s students (Classes I-IX) took up nine projects (Transportation & Communication, Bedtime Stories, Food Habits, Housing & Clothing, Festivals, Environment & Climate, Books & Authors, Architecture, Culture & Heritage) based on the theme of “Change”. They interacted with expatriates in Vadodara from Japan, China and the USA, and linking up with schools in Kuwait, UK and USA, to understand how “Change” has influenced these nine themes in extraordinary and unusual ways in different parts of the world.
The Project which proactively engaged the School’s students throughout 2010-11, endeavoured to meet exciting challenges and derive solutions, all with an international perspective, since no individual, society or nation can today remain isolated from global influences. If “change” is the order of the day, then surely Vidyanians are well-prepared to adapt, adjust and innovate to suit evolving contexts. The ISA accreditation is an affirmation of the methods adopted by the Navrachana Vidyani Vidyalaya teachers.

Navrachana Vidyani Vidyalaya receives International School Award (ISA)
The Vidyani Principal, Ms Rekha Mishra and Academic Coordinator, Ms. Sonal Verma, attended the British Council School Awards Ceremony 2011 on 20th October at New Delhi to receive the International School Award (ISA) accreditation.
The ISA has been introduced by the British Council to recognize good practice in international dimension in schools. The ISA provides a framework for schools to develop international links and activities.
Navrachana Vidyani Vidyalaya is the recipient of the prestigious ISA accreditation because of its incorporation of the international dimension in curricular transaction. A global outlook is sought to be cultivated in all spheres of the school’s activities.
The ISA awards presentation was marked by cultural programmes by various schools of Delhi. The Chief Guest was Ms. Archana Chitins, Honorable Minister of Education, Madhya Pradesh, while Sir Richard Stagg, the UK High Commissioner to India, was the Guest of Honour.
With this award, Vidyani becomes one among select few schools across the nation who have successfully met the stringent criteria laid down for the coveted ISA accreditation.

Avantika Rajiv Gandhi Education Excellency Award presented to Ms Rekha Mishra
Ms Rekha Mishra , Principal, Navrachana Vidyani Vidyalaya, won the Avantika Rajiv Gandhi Award for Education Excellence. This award was presented to her on 25th August at Anand Vidya Vihar, Vadodara, by Avantika , A Group of Contemporary Artist and Intellectuals. To mark the occasion of 26 years of its foundation, Avantika has institutionalized “ Avantika Rajiv Gandhi Memorial Award “ with a view to encourage educationalists to strive for excellence and give special recognition to those who are considered to be the leaders of quality education in India.. ‘Avantika’ saw Ms Rekha Mishra as a vibrant force of change and appreciated her efforts in modernizing India for truly techno-socio-economic development.

Navrachana Vidyani Vidyalaya shines at the
Mahatma Gandhi Education Awards, 2011
Rekha Mishra, Principal, and Sonal Verma, Coordinator, Navrachana Vidyani Vidyalaya, Vadodara, bagged the top prizes at the Mahatma Gandhi Education Awards, 2011, instituted by the India First Foundation Trust in collaboration with Academy for Global Education Services Pvt. Ltd (AGES), Mumbai. The Awards were declared at a well-attended function in Ahmedabad on October 2, 2011. The Mahatma Gandhi Education Awards for the Best Teacher and the Best Principal of the Private Schools in Gujarat, aim to honour educators and the unsung heroes of society.
Rekha Mishra was awarded the topmost prestigious Gold Award of Excellence in the ‘Best Principal Category’ for being a committed leader, whose generous facilitation in education has yielded extraordinary academic quality to the Vidyani Vidyalaya that she has been associated with ever since it was established. Sonal Verma was awarded the coveted topmost Platinum Award of Excellence in the ‘Best Teacher Category’ for being a dedicated teacher whose commitment towards academic and co-curricular excellence has facilitated a tremendous change in the school. Both awards carry a prize money of Rs. 1,11,111, a Trophy and a Citation to each of the winners. Both teachers are currently also engaged in helping empower the academics and activities at the Eklavya Residential School for Tribal Children at Vejalpur which is managed by the Navrachana Education Society.
Rekha Mishra and Sonal Verma emerged toppers in their respective categories overcoming stiff peer challenge, thereby proving their excellence in their fields. While Rekha Mishra’s special contribution lies in enhancing student development and creating committed teaching teams, Sonal Verma is rated highly among her peers for team-building and guidance. Together, they have taken the Navrachana Vidyani Vidyalaya to great heights, establishing it as one of the best schools affiliated to the Gujarat Board in the state.
